Fight Senior Hunger on Your Lunch Break
Just One Hour Can Have a Lasting Impact on the Lives of a Dozen Seniors
Each weekday our Meals on Wheels program delivers approximately 575 lunches to homebound seniors in Montgomery County. These deliveries also serve as a safety check and short social visit – often the highlight of the senior’s day. We could not do this without the generosity of community volunteers and donors like you!
DELIVER MEALS TO SENIORS
Want to be a part of spreading hope to homebound seniors? Become a meal delivery volunteer. Most routes will take as little as one hour of your time, while some rural routes can take up to two hours.
Weekday Meal Delivery
Fight senior hunger on your lunch break! Weekly meal delivery volunteers are the lifeline of our organization.
We have a pickup time of 10:30 am at various locations throughout Montgomery County, depending on the route assignment. We encourage meal delivery volunteers to commit to 1 route a week.
Become a Substitute
We need substitutes nearly every day. If you are not able to commit to a weekly route, this option may be for you. Don’t let a full calendar keep you away! A sub may sign up to deliver a route based on their personal schedule that week.
Tour Our Kitchen
Step into the Meals on Wheels kitchen the first Friday morning of each month and your nose will confirm our seniors are well-cared for with delicious, home-cooked meals. John, the Meals on Wheels Kitchen Manager and a culinary school graduate, takes industrial cooking to a new level. He prepares meals for our homebound seniors each weekday, using the freshest and healthiest ingredients. Taste the delicious meals and get a behind the scene look at how we prepare and deliver 575 meals to homebound seniors each week.
We also offer private tours – available for larger groups, corporate groups, church groups and more! Visit our Calendar to signup or register your group for a Meals on Wheels kitchen tour.
