Who Qualifies for Home-Delivered Meals?
To be eligible for our home-delivered meal program, clients must meet the following criteria:
- Live in Montgomery County
- Be 60 years of age or older
- Be homebound, meaning they have difficulty leaving home without assistance
- Be unable to drive
- Have physical or mental limitations that make it difficult to prepare meals
- Be able to receive meals during the assigned delivery timeframe
Who Is Not Eligible?
To ensure services go to those who need them most, home-delivered meals are not available to individuals who:
- Live with a caregiver or family member (other than a spouse)
- Have a caregiver or provider already authorized to prepare their meals
If a senior does not meet the qualifications for home-delivered meals, congregate meals may be an option. These meals are served at various locations throughout Montgomery County.

If you or a loved one needs meal delivery, the first step is to contact our Intake Coordinator at 936.271.2183. When you call, please leave a detailed voicemail that includes today’s date, the potential client’s full name, date of birth, zip code, and contact phone number. Be sure to also include your own name and a number where we can reach you.
